Do you know what the newest trend is? Believe it or not shoppers are looking to save money today more than ever. Inflation has forced us to change our once comfortable habits into frugal spending. What can we do to brainstorm this dilemma? To quote a wise woman “we save where we spend”
Thrifting can be one of those habits that can help save us money in our daily living
Every day there are more and more people including young people turning to ways of saving money. Buying second hand is one way to save while shopping. Many places are out there just get started. You will be surprised how fun it is to shop and save at the same time.
I hope this has helped and you will be encouraged in these days of high prices to beat inflation and still save money.
The best part of Christmas is decorating our homes for the season. Especially when you are a home decor design account on Instagram. Making home feel like home is want I love to do best for my family.
Everyday in every way I do something to get our home ready for Christmas. Usually I will pick one room like the dining room and start styling it. I like to start in the the dining room. The heart of the home. From there a theme starts to be created for the rest of the house.
I will be sharing more about Christmas decorations and pics do check back to see how it is coming along.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Looking all the way back to Christmas memories – sweet Leo opening a present from Santa
Throwback Thursdays are always so much fun to do when it comes to grandchildren When this (above) picture was taken Leo was only 3 years old.
Would you believe Leo is now a senior in high school? He has grown up to be a fine young man. Of course he is still as sweet as ever.
Leo is the highlight of my Throwback Thursday he is also on my Instagram stories and on my posts. There are Christmas past pics as well.
Throwbacks are always the best to share so many good memories especially when it comes to Christmas but this time Leo took center stage in all of his very special sweetness. I’ll be posting more about Leo when he graduates from high school.
Thank you friends for your visit. I appreciate all your comments.
Round up today! You can’t even believe the finale!!! Lots more baked goods and the very best part Lois was there with her awesome cranberry pear pie!
Of course the pie took center stage with over 20 bids starting at $30 all the way to $101. It was a phenomenal ending finishing up with two bids $101 and two $100.
Twice a year the Bake Sales transform the lobby of the Macomb Family YMCA into wonderland of homemade bakeries. But this event just doesn’t happen it takes team work with the help of Sarah and Holly (our #1 volunteer) the magic happens. Holly was name the top volunteer of all of Metro Detroit. She was honored with a plaque and a beautiful breakfast event. We are so pleased and grateful to have Holly at the Macomb Family YMCA.
I have just been notified of the amazing results. We have done the best ever breaking all records. This is very exciting. Our team’s goal is always to beat our best and we did it!!! This collaboration of hard word resulting in funding scholarships for local children to attend summer camp right at the Macomb Family YMCA.
The Macomb Family YMCA wishes to thank everyone for the delicious homemade baked goods and all the generous donations.
It has been a good time having you stop by the blog. I hope you enjoyed the past three days at the Bake Sale. We did too.
The Bake Sale originated about seven years ago. It became a way for the YMCA to help underprivileged children have a scholarship for summer camp.
Virginia was a member of YMCA for many years She held the title and was awarded “Volunteer of the Year in all of Metro Detroit YMCA’s. She received a beautiful trophy and was invited to a dinner in her honor. Virginia was always helping others. On the day of the Bake Sales she was always the first one to arrive to set up.
When Virginia passed away we wanted to do something very special to remember her and to keep her kind spirit in our presence. At the Bake sales we post pictures and the beautiful banner to her sweet memory
Tomorrow is the final day of the sale. I will be there taking pics and sharing the final results.
Join us for the last day. It’s always so much fun trying to beat our best.
I hope you enjoyed the bake sale journey. We enjoyed having you here!
Featuring my best finds adding to the holiday decor. Actually some are brand new because people are purging for the new updated holiday looks. I know this cause I am too! LoL!!! But you know what they say “one woman’s toss is another woman’s treasure” or something like that you get the point! Others are slightly used and than all those vintage finds. My very favorite. Should I tell you well don’t let out the secret because than everyone will be looking for them. I am absolutely in love ❤️ and looking for antique ornaments. I love ❤️ to style them with my white Ironstone. It is a challenge so this is when you have to get so creative for your resources. I need to do another Snob Saturday (check my posts) for secrets of snobbing. I will be sharing more in days to come. Find a local shoppe and visit them often they can be so helpful. I have a girl we share vintage hearts and she is just a wonderful source.
BTW I found red “D” bulb at http://salvationarmy.com. The pickings were slim so I had to do a lot of looking. The fun of the hunt is so worth it.
I found two very cute pre-lit trees to put at my back door. I will share pics as soon as I put them up. The small red bulbs are from one of the trees. I just wanted lights so I snatched the bulbs to do some home decor inside.
The wine cabinet has been a lot of fun to displayed all the finds from today. In my post from last Saturday I share the discovery of the very vintage crystal wine decanter and glasses to match.
Today was an awesome day for some real finds a gorgeous all wood mirror 75% off only $10. You can see a better view in my Instagram stories.
FYI I almost did not go today I am very glad I did right you never know what you may find!
Did you like todays post I sure did Tomorrow will be a good day too. Stop by to see what’s happening.
Best Regards Dana
Of course I appreciate your comments and any questions you may have!
Are you busy decorating your house for Christmas because did you notice Mother Nature has got the outside covered even still I’ve added a few of my own personal touches to make it feel like home outside too.
I put wreaths every where for every season but Christmas is my favorite time to decorate.
Welcome Home … family friends and quests are greeted by the Christmas wreath hanging on the bike.
Lake St Clair covered with ice and snow. Perfect for skaters and ice fishermen. Isn’t she beautiful?
Coming home is always a good feeling no matter what the season “Happy are those who are home for the Holidays”🎄
Actually I don’t know when this love for antiques started. But here’s what I do know… I find loving old things intriguing. I appreciate its past history and the story it tells.
This beautiful cherry wood cabinet is perfect right next to the kitchen to store all of my white antique ironstone pieces. I was inspired by http://missmustardseed.com beautiful dishes. Soon after that I started my very own collection.
The holidays were and still is a beautiful celebration. The dining room is the gathering place for family and friends to enjoy each other delicious dinners always desserts wine and cocktails.
Throwback Thursday was a good day. I hope you enjoyed all the history and pics.
