  • In the episode “Second Hand Saturday…”

    December 10th, 2022

Do you know what the newest trend is? Believe it or not shoppers are looking to save money today more than ever. Inflation has forced us to change our once comfortable habits into frugal spending. What can we do to brainstorm this dilemma? To quote a wise woman “we save where we spend”

Second hand stores are on a huge uprising for everyday living and currently for Christmas shopping

Thrifting can be one of those habits that can help save us money in our daily living

Every day there are more and more people including young people turning to ways of saving money. Buying second hand is one way to save while shopping. Many places are out there just get started. You will be surprised how fun it is to shop and save at the same time.

I hope this has helped and you will be encouraged in these days of high prices to beat inflation and still save money.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

The best part of Christmas is decorating our homes for the season. Especially when you are a home decor design account on Instagram. Making home feel like home is want I love to do best for my family.

    Christmas in the dining room
    Lighting candles creates a coziness

Everyday in every way I do something to get our home ready for Christmas. Usually I will pick one room like the dining room and start styling it. I like to start in the the dining room. The heart of the home. From there a theme starts to be created for the rest of the house.

Looking all the way back to Christmas memories – sweet Leo opening a present from Santa

Leo was the youngest grandson at the time

Throwback Thursdays are always so much fun to do when it comes to grandchildren When this (above) picture was taken Leo was only 3 years old.

Just look at this handsome Leo now

Would you believe Leo is now a senior in high school? He has grown up to be a fine young man. Of course he is still as sweet as ever.

Leo actually made the hashtag #christmaspast my grandson the celebrity lol

Leo is the highlight of my Throwback Thursday he is also on my Instagram stories and on my posts. There are Christmas past pics as well.

    My favorite pencil Christmas tree
Decorating outside is as much fun as decorating inside.

Throwbacks are always the best to share so many good memories especially when it comes to Christmas but this time Leo took center stage in all of his very special sweetness. I’ll be posting more about Leo when he graduates from high school.

Thank you friends for your visit. I appreciate all your comments.

Featuring my best finds adding to the holiday decor. Actually some are brand new because people are purging for the new updated holiday looks. I know this cause I am too! LoL!!! But you know what they say “one woman’s toss is another woman’s treasure” or something like that you get the point! Others are slightly used and than all those vintage finds. My very favorite. Should I tell you well don’t let out the secret because than everyone will be looking for them. I am absolutely in love ❤️ and looking for antique ornaments. I love ❤️ to style them with my white Ironstone. It is a challenge so this is when you have to get so creative for your resources. I need to do another Snob Saturday (check my posts) for secrets of snobbing. I will be sharing more in days to come. Find a local shoppe and visit them often they can be so helpful. I have a girl we share vintage hearts and she is just a wonderful source.

This isn’t quite vintage but I love ❤️ the “D”
It’s red and has Polk a Dots too another favorite Buy what strikes your fancy and what do you love? You know it really is all about you. LOL

BTW I found red “D” bulb at http://salvationarmy.com. The pickings were slim so I had to do a lot of looking. The fun of the hunt is so worth it.

Thrift store treasure not vintage but very cute

I found two very cute pre-lit trees to put at my back door. I will share pics as soon as I put them up. The small red bulbs are from one of the trees. I just wanted lights so I snatched the bulbs to do some home decor inside.

The white ironstone was found at http://secondhandrose.com The four piece set was half off.
My daughter eyed it when we first walked in.
Another Ironstone added to my collection beautifully display in the wine cabinet.

    Very Vintage Vibes & Finds

Actually I don’t know when this love for antiques started. But here’s what I do know… I find loving old things intriguing. I appreciate its past history and the story it tells.

Our old home back in the day a real find of history 1900’s lake cottage.
Old barn wood cabinet everything about this gem is old including the hooks and the chicken wire lining the doors
Antiquing has inspired many collections including old bottles one of my favorites decoring on the shelves

This beautiful cherry wood cabinet is perfect right next to the kitchen to store all of my white antique ironstone pieces. I was inspired by http://missmustardseed.com beautiful dishes. Soon after that I started my very own collection.

Throwback Thursday ❤️ Christmas past cute little old red plaid pale holding candy canes to sweeten hot chocolate.
