  • Thrift Treasure Tuesday

    November 29th, 2022

In my episode today featuring some my best finds to date!

Is saving money one of your priorities?

Then thrifting might be for you!

Are you someone who loves a great bargain?

Maybe just maybe second hand stores like Salvation Army etc might be the answer! Or garage or estate sales can be another option. There are many venues available today. It really can be a fun challenge to discover that special find!

Yes friends the red plaid Broyhill settee you see in the back was from a thrift store. You just never know what you may find Did I say auctions? The chandelier was discovered in a cardboard box (yucky-8 hours to clean) The hunt is always the best part!

You know that old saying “Don’t knock it till you try it”

Twelve Days of Christmas William Sonoma @valueworld a family owned business in Michigan and Ohio. 50% off everything in the store the twelve piece set was under $8.00. These beauties will be in my forever Christmas collection.
The mirror is in the foyer when you first walk in the back door. I’ll be sharing more pics on the blog this week. I fell in love with this mirror at a resale shop the minute I spotted it. This probably was one of my earlier purchases. I wasn’t sure what I was doing but I knew I loved it and had to have it so I put it in layaway. Gloria the shop owner is now one of my best friends and a true mentor.
I also found this garland @valueworld as well half off only $4 what do you think did I get a good bargain? There were lights in it but I put then inside the wine bar. I’ll be sharing tomorrow The garland accents the top of the mirror with it’s lovely greenery
What I love most about the mirror is the amazing wood carving shell motif and the delicate trim just at the beveled glass. All the features that sold me on its beauty. I have never regretted this purchase even though it was a lot of money but sweet Gloria was kind enough to let me put it in layaway.

I hope you enjoyed the episode “Thrift Treasure Tuesday”. and all the fun finds

Looking forward to seeing and sharing more tomorrow!

Of course comments and questions are always appreciated!

    Best Regards Dana

  • Throwback Tuesday

    November 22nd, 2022

    Early Christmas Throwback this week!

Yes friends Christmas is coming before we know it we will be opening presents. Lets get inspired from past pics. These really are my favorites with presents all wrapped and nestled under the tree. You’ll see lots of red my theme color I always use at the holiday season. What is your theme color you like to use during the holiday seasons?

    Christmas tree ornaments
Christmas presents nestled under the tree
    Christmas in the dining room
    Merry Christmas 🎄 night
    Peace & Joy
    Christmas Day awaiting guests
Pottery Barn candelabrum lit in the sunroom
    Coffee table decor
    Candles and flowers always
    add cozy to any room

Christmas red adds lots of charm and coziness to the decor.

When you decorate make sure you pick a theme like reindeers or snowmen ⛄️ or even snowflakes ❄️ it make it so much easier and than add colors like red and green. Actually the easiest way to start is to use what you already have. Than you can start decorating and know what you need to add to your decor list.

Also be inspired by magazine and books and don’t forget Instagram and Pinterest as well

I hope you have been inspired and will come back soon

Thanks you for your visit. Please leave your comments or questions below.

    Best Regards Dana

  • Sunday Sharing

    November 20th, 2022

Last week was tough I worked lots of days prepared for the holidays but this story has a happy ending I promise wait for it!!!

    youtu.be/0cNzmRVjQRI

Yes honestly we did have Friends Thanksgiving not quite with “Friends” LoL but how much fun seeing each other at a very cool restaurant a delicious bread and butter boards as an appetizer cocktails and an awesome array of selections from a choice menu. We toasted “cheers” to all laughed and savored those moments with each and the upcoming holidays. Of course exchanged recipes and family and friend plans for Thanksgiving. There was a snow storm that night but we all went anyways to celebrate each other and of course to give thanks for one another and all of our many blessings. Yes friends it was a very special night of sharing.

    What does Friendsgiving mean?

The world “Friendsgiving” was officially added to the Merriam-Webster dictionaryin January 2020 after being on its “Words We’re Watching” list. It’s obviously a compound of the words “friends” and “Thanksgiving” and refers to an informal iteration of the holiday that has become super common. It’s basically the day you have Thanksgiving but with your friends. Sometimes it’s in lieu of Thanksgiving or in addition to.

    When did Friendsgiving start?

According to Merriam-Webster, the earliest use of the term Friendsgiving dates back to a 2007 tweet, but some people credit the hit show Friends for inspiring the concept of spending the holiday with friends. Another theory suggests that a 2011 ad campaign by Baileys Irish Cream liqueur used the word, giving the Friendsgiving movement more momentum. Since then, it’s become a word that refers to a Thanksgiving dinner celebrated with friends.

What day do people celebrate Friendsgiving?

There’s no official date for Friendsgiving, like there is for Thanksgiving (which is celebrating on the fourth Thursday of November, by the way). Many people choose to host it before legit Turkey Day, if they spend Thanksgiving traveling home to be with family. Others will just co-opt the true Thanksgiving and call it Friendsgiving if they’re celebrating with a group of pals.

Have you had Friends Thanksgiving? Try it I guarantee you will be very thankful you did. There is still time before or after the holiday. Going out to eat puts you in the mood with all the festive decorations.

Comment below if you have celebrated Friends Thanksgiving or plan on having one soon. Share how it went would love ❤️ to hear all the fun details.

    Happy Sunday Sharing!

    Best Regards Dana

This is honestly a very selfish post but maybe your with me on this one because it’s all about chocolate can I get an Amen. So I love ❤️ chocolate as much as coffee ☕️ I choose coffee no calories well unless I have a latte or fancies but chocolate 🍫 well that’s a different story all together like did you know chocolate is healing especially after a bad day and with holidays the list goes on and on with so many varieties I work @homegoods I see what you all are buying that Gourmet section is unbelievable tempting.

Betty Crocker Delights Supreme Chocolate Chuck Brownie Mix satisfies that chocolate craving this is delicious easy to make convenient and fast.

Best rich chocolate brownies ever for a box well here it is one of my favorite chocolate recipes and you will be surprised at the rich flavor and moist texture.

Also makes great cupcakes for the holidays
    and bake sales.

  • Feels like Home To Me Friday

    November 18th, 2022

In the episode “Feels like Home to Me Friday”

Making our home cozy for the holidays can bring back many memories. Memories of our own childhood with our family and friends as well. The feels of home can be very comforting and soothing. When we decorate this is the cozy we are looking to create and experience.

Dinner can be a special time but especially at the holiday season.

The dinner table is the place for all to gather to enjoy each other and the wonderful food.

So as this holiday season begins may all of us take the time to remember those very special moments and relish the memories that will continue to dwell in our hearts.

The dining room… a joyful place to be with each other.

As this holiday week continues I will be sharing more about how to prepare and enjoy the days ahead. I do hope you will come by for a visit.

    Thank you

    Best Regards Dana
