The Do’s and Don’t
Do use: Fresh fruits and vegetables coffee grounds egg shells scapes from deadheading the garden spent flowers leaves and plants.
Don’t use: raw or cooked meat fish eggs food of any kind milk juice or pop
Simple storage containers of any kind work very well too.
What’s a gardener to do when the planters have been harvested looking bear and empty of course put in more plants. I chose mums (yellow) for my main theme and added sunflowers mini pumpkins colorful leaves and scarecrows to finish the fall look. I can’t believe how pretty they turned out. It was so easy too! All I did was soak my mums for 24 hours to ensure a strong root system and lasting longer blooms. Next I started arranging the other plants along with the cute galvanized pumpkins and finally the scarecrows dressing up arrangements with very a fun fall look.
I did it. I have been thinking and talking about it for two weeks. Harvest Time had arrived and I really needed to stop procrastinating. So I did it. Right after my morning walk I just started pulling vegetable and flower plants. Now it’s time to style my planters with fall vibes like mums and pumpkins. I’ll show you pics I promise
October Vibes are happening inside too. The heart of the home is getting decorated with cozy feels of warm whites and autumn oranges and greens. The dining room is always the best place in the house for lots of gatherings delicious meals and warm memories for all.
Coffee has always been my lifeline in fact as soon as I could drink it I did with lots of cream and sugar and today discovering lattes and flavored creamers has been life changing because sometimes you just need little extra something to give your day a boost whatever the reason maybe now that I have a frothier and flavored creamer I am one very happy camper coffee drinker
The seasons just gets me started. Cooking and baking is definitely “a fall thing” so today I got very excited when Jim brought home boneless pork chops. My recipe: double breaded pork with stuffing mushrooms and fresh green beans drizzled with mushroom gravy. Everything was delicious check out my stories for some videos and I’ll post some pics. Double breading means dip in egg and bread crumbs then repeat dipping in egg and bread crumbs again the thick coating locks in moisture and flavors.
Well friends Mother Nature is moving in quickly can you feel it? It is definitely time so let me invite you to our front porch overlooking the lake. It is our favorite place to be especially in the Fall with cooler nights but wonderful sunny mornings. I put together a tour with lots of oranges my color for this season right! I’ll be sharing more about interior designing but for now on with the tour… The porch is at the front of the house. It was originally built as an outside room then it was enclosed we added the windows to make it a three season addition. The cottage was built in the 1900’s for the family to travel from Detroit to stay for the summers. The history is quite colorful and I’ll be sharing more as time goes on. Thanks for stopping by
xoxo Dana
I made this cute fella a million years ago so it seems when ceramic classes were so popular. I painted him a bright yellow to really help him glow.
Fall is here let the colors begin!
